The bottom molding is done now. Only the chair rail and crown molding to go:)

1st Job as Daddy

Karl has been working hard to get the baby's room ready. He's been measuring, taping and painting for the last month. He will be finishing up the crown moulding, chair rail and framing in the next month or so (we'll put up a new picture when it's finished).

He's done a great job and come up with a lot of the design details himself! He is going to be the best dad!

Mary Jones Hardy

October 8, 1924- December 17, 2007

Mary Jones Hardy, 83, was the daughter of the late John Oliver and Erna Coker Jones. She was a native of Neshoba County and has been a resident of Madison for many years. She retired after 21 years of work at a child daycare center and she was a member of Madison First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Claudie Hardy. Survivors include her sons, Jerry Claudie Hardy and wife, Judy of Vicksburg, Carol Frank Hardy and wife, Kay of Crocker, TX, Dale Hardy and wife, Robyn of Longview, TX, and Mark Wayne Hardy and wife, Kelli of Madison; grandchildren, Kim Adams and husband, Japheth, Jessica Scherm and husband, Karl, Jennifer Hardy, Jay Hardy and wife, Beth, Stephen Hardy, and Ashleigh Hardy; three great grandchildren; and brother, Wyndel Jones and wife, Audie of Franklin, TN.

White Elephant Party

This year we will be in Texas for New Year's so we decided to have a White Elephant Christmas Party instead.

We had a great time with friends and tons of food! The presents were great for some laughs. The newly weds weren't the only ones giving wedding gifts at the party. Several of the gifts were from people who had been married for 5 years, but somehow the wedding gifts resurfaced!
We had a special surprise guest from Texas! Came decked out with a Santa hat and everything. The only trouble with that is I almost lost the best gift to him!! (A dancing, talking George W. Bush)!

This last picture is Kristen Tilley and I who are both due the first week of April (4th & 6th). We figured we would go ahead and start taking pictures of our kids together, since they will be such good friends later:)

5 Wonderful Years!!

Well, we made it, 5 years of marriage. We are still waiting for the hard part to come! To this day the only struggle we have is deciding what to eat for dinner. We have been so blessed and thank God for the grace He has given us.

For our anniversary we went to New York City. We stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which was within walking distance of all the great NYC attractions. We had dinner in Times Square and enjoyed the crisp winter weather.

We also had the priviledge of seeing the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular. It truely was amazing! We sat on the second row, so we didn't miss a thing:). It was very moving, if New York City can say Merry Christmas, what's wrong with the rest of the country?!

Halfway There!

We did NOT find out if it is a boy or girl, so you will just have to wait until April to find out! Everything looked great when we went! Nothing unusual to report. The heart rate was 142 so you can make your predictions from there:) Make sure you vote (poll to the left:)!!

Willow Valley-LeTourneau

We had the pleasure of being invited again this year to the Willow Valley Event that LeTourneau Unv. holds every year in Lancaster, PA.
The University brings their best and brightest to talk to perspective students and alumni. Karl and I went to the college fair and talked with students interested in LU. We got to meet up with several friends from our time at LU.
Along with the treat of getting to see old friends and co-workers, this year we had the priviledge of meeting the University's new President, Dr. Dale Lunsford. He truely is a man after God's own heart, and we are excited to see where the Unv. goes under his leadership!

Pumpkin Carving Party

We had a pumpkin carving party this year. We all had a great time, but I'll admit we didn't even carve one pumpkin!! It was pretty cool out and the 5 or 6 two-year olds, at the party, were having too much fun just chasing each other through the house!

We had lots of great "Fall Treats"! Chili, Beer Cheese Soup, halloween shaped sugar cookies, sausage balls, wassail and more!

Maybe we'll try again next year! You know us, any excuse to have a party:)

Feels like October

Yesterday it was in the 90's, but today it finally feels like October!
I actually had to wear a sweatshirt this morning, when my friend Sarah and I went for a walk. Hot chocolate and s'mores are right around the corner:)

After our walk, I went with some other friends to a local nursery where they had hayrides, pumpkin painting, pigs and a moon bouce for the kids! Along for the hayride was (from left to right): Katie & Maryn, me & baby Scherm, Reagan, Julie & Avery, and Dana & Kaleigh. Reagan and Kaleigh had a great time playing in the moon bouce and on the huge slide! We all had fun playing in the hay, eating fresh popcorn and enjoying the crisp cool air.

Dr.'s Appointment

I had a a doctor's appointment today and it went really well. I got to hear the heartbeat again, which was funny cause the baby wouldn't stop moving! The doctor kept getting a little sound and then it would move away. She did finally get it and it was beating at 140 beats per minutes!

The 1st ultrasound we had the baby was asleep and they couldn't wake it up, now it won't be still! I haven't felt the baby move yet, but hopefully it will happen soon:).
